Hi, for my freshman year I had gone to a UC school but had left due to personal reasons. I now attend CC and only 3 classes during my UC year had transferred over to my current school. I plan to apply for cal states after I’m done with my prerequisites, and wanted to know if only those 3 classes from the UC school will be counted as credit. I know that I’m suppose to send both my UC & CC transcript, but will they disregard all the other classes I took at the UC since only 3 of them were counted as transfer credit at my CC?
You will send both your CC and your UC transcript when you apply. Each place that you apply to will decide for itself which credits to accept. I understand that there os a website for the California system that can tell you which credits will transfer where. So ask the Transfer Counselor at your CC about that. You might be able to look it all up yourself.
The web site is https://www.assist.org/ , but it mainly deals with CC->{UC,CSU} transfer credit, as opposed to transfer credit between the four year schools.
It is likely that all or most of your UC credit will be accepted for credit units at a CSU, but subject credit depends on how each course matches or does not match a course or requirement at the CSU.
