hey @philbegas i was starting to think that they weren’t any other Drexel transfers on here, anyway congratulations on your acceptance.

I just got my updated aid package. I signed up for the 1 co-op program so during the first year it assumes I’ll be in school all 4 quarters (fine with me I suppose).

I received $13,263.00 per quarter in scholarships/grants/work-study
Also, $2375 per quarter in loans.

@philbegas 1 co-op program so does that mean you only be at drexel for 2 years?

Yep. I would enter in the Fall of 2017 and finish at the end of summer 2019. Provided all classes go fine of course.

@philbegas I think I might change my program to 1 co-op then. In the long run I think I would save more money.

Well during co op quarters you don’t pay tuition, but you do pay housing + a few general fees. So it kind-of depends on if it’s worth it for you.

@philbegas That’s true however with doing 2 co-ops it will take a longer time for me graduate ,and I rather graduate earlier.

@SupaDupaFly5 Where are you gonna end up going?

Why did you get less scholarship/grant money as compared to the other guy :o.? Your stats look good and even better then the other guy or is it because you’re financially better.?

Me? I think you’re comparing apples to oranges. I included all of my federal grants and everything, and listed my aid per quarter whereas I think he listed the Drexel grants he got only, for the first year.

Just to clarify, Drexel is giving me $11,220 in MERIT aid PER QUARTER. And this is valid for I believe 12 quarters as long as I have a minimum 3.0 or something like that.

@Ankii1996 and @philbegas I received 12343 per quarter grants/scholarships/merit aid,etc and 1,875 in loans. I got 4300 per quarter in merit aid. Also @philbegas I am going to USF. How about you where are you going for the fall?

Drexel

Do you guys have any idea what the average transfer GPA is to get into the business School/Program (Finance) at Drexel and will withdrawals count against me because I started with a different major at CC and changed it to business so non-major course withdrawals and i’m 20 so I didn’t waste any time or anything just realized comp sci isn’t for me …?

I had a 1.105 when I came back to community college so it seems like they really valued the upwards trend. Perhaps they will with you too.

I don’t know if any of you are still active on CC. But when does Drexel start sending out decisions for Fall. I know it’s rolling so I was wondering if I would have an edge if I submit my application right now and turn in my transcripts later. I didn’t even start college yet. lol. Gonna be a freshman this fall

You should probably just ask them, it’s not like we magically know lol

Also, I think you’re jumping the gun sending an application right now. IMO you should prepare it, and then send it after you complete 1 semester at your current institution so you have some grades.

“To be considered for admission as a transfer student, you should have completed a minimum of 24 semester college credits from a regionally accredited institution. Official transcripts must be sent directly from your college or university to Drexel. The transcript should include all courses in progress. You are required to submit transcripts from each college attended.”
