I'm looking to transfer to NYU as an Econ major in the CAS. Most of the information I found online is a little outdated, so I wanted to found out a little more. I'm going into my sophomore year. I had to transfer out of my first school after the first semester of freshman year due to family issues. I still made a 3.71. At my state's flagship university second semester, I earned a 3.786 in the business school. As far as EC's go, I am a member of a fraternity, the finance society, and volunteered with an Autism Speaks event that raised over $50k. I also started my own landscaping business and worked full time at the world headquarters of a major company. I guess my question is how difficult is it to transfer into the CAS as an Econ major? Does it look like I have a solid shot? Anything else you'd recommend me doing in the next semester before I apply to increase my chances? Thanks a lot in advance!

Could anyone help me out? I have no idea where I stand, especially since the NYU website does not give a transfer applicant profile.

Also just read on the website that if I transfer to NYU as an econ major, I would have to retake two of the highest level economics courses I have already taken. I’m a little confused by this this…Can someone confirm that if I’ve taken micro, macro, and micro theory, I would have to retake micro and micro theory?

What about your mathematics? Have you finished calc classes?

I think your ECs are okay and you have a strong GPA. I’m in the same boat as you. I want to know my chances for Poly… but no help. The info online doesn’t really tell me much. I guess I have to hope for the best :P

I’ve finished Calc I and am currently taking Calc II this semester. Does the university also do the same with Calc courses?

When are you applying for transfer? This semester right? I highly suggest you finish calc 2 at the minimum. I’m not that sure about CAS Econ requirements but I would assume that you would also need some stat classes. Don’t quote me though, I’m just a bored engineer

You should look here for more info. Good luck!

Thanks. I’m still a little confused how I look as an applicant. I haven’t been able to find updated information on NYU’s transfer profile. Can anyone help me out?

If the rest of the semester goes accordingly, I should end up with a 4.0 this semester having taken 19 credits. This would move my GPA up to a 3.91. I also got accepted to the honors college this semester. Could anyone help me out and see how my chances look?
