Those who TRANSFERED and are currently studying at Cornell

Hello, I am an international freshman student studying Econ and Math (double majors) and I'm thinking of transferring to CAS for a major in Econ as
a. I never intended to pursue math as a major
b. The course outline gives an impression that we're doing more math than econ
c. The curriculum is very rigid and does not allow flexibilty in choosing other complementary social science courses
d. Due to financial constraints I couldn't accept admission offers from intl unis last year and so had no choice but to get enrolled in the local uni I'm in
My gpa for the first semester is 3.7.

I would welcome any advice that may aid me in my application next year. Also should I bother to transfer at all? How competitive is admission process for CAS and what is it that may attract adm comm , any particular work experience/internship? Any guidance at all is welcomed. Thanks :-)

Anyone? :/

First and foremost it depends on your numbers. You have a 3.7 GPA which is around average for competitive applicants. What was your HS GPA/SAT? If those were low then you may want to apply when you’re a sophomore and raise your college GPA. As you can imagine CAS is very competitive, but any sort of good relevent ECs will help.

I transferred in the spring semester, even if your HS gpa is low still apply ur freshman year. Get involved, do community service and if possible shadow someone or get an internship or do research. You can also be come a tutor, just do so academic ECs. If you need any help inbox me.
