@ gatorordie, I haven’t actually asked that, I just assumed so because I have seen one or two reports of people being rejected by CALS already (EileenM earlier in this thread, for example). Back in mid-March they had me update my app to fill in a small time gap (what I’ve been up to since high school). That was after it had been referred to CALS for a final decision, so I think they definitely are. Not sure what the holdup is.

An interesting side note - back in February UF also pulled two of my three transcripts on their own before I could get them sent out myself.

Good luck to everyone! I applied back in November and didn’t get a decision until the middle of March. I applied to Health and Human Performance, which is rolling. I hope to see all of you there in August!

For the people who have already been accepted, when are you planning on going to Preview?

@collegetransf-
are you sure your friend can switch colleges? I know once you get accepted, even conditionally, you can’t change terms or major (and I’m assuming college too). I assume this because each individual college reviews your application and then decide to admit you, so if she changes to another college I assume the other college would have to admit her which I’m guessing is sort of like applying again? lol idk, sounds messy.

@ohboymelissa- already signed up for may 11 :)

Yeah, looked at the preview dates for transfer students… can you sign up if you don’t know if you’ve been admitted yet? I would assume not, and if CALS drags their feet notifying us all the way until July 15, well then some applicants could miss all of the dates (last one is July 13). By the way, preview is supposed to be mandatory too (at least for for transfer students it is). Really nervous about how I’m going to deal with the living situation if I can’t start looking until then.

@heraclid I wouldn’t fret too much about that. As long as you applied at a decent time before the deadline and got all of your transcripts in chances are you won’t hear that late. When I spoke to my advisor at CALS he told me that CALS will start with the applications that were in the earliest an proceed like that. I’m sure you will hear soon and have a good amount of time to find housing.

Im getting really frustrated. I just finished going through last years thread and it seemed that most kids for CALS found out in late May. However that was when the deadline was June now it is July 15. Does this mean we could be hearing around June? I honestly dont think my heart can take it.

I just checked my admissions status and I got in!!
And of course I’m conditionally accepted since I’m still taking 2 pre-prof. classes.
The following is the message I got:

Congratulations!!! Your application to the University of Florida for the Fall 2012 term has been approved!

Official notification will arrive by mail, including the conditions of your admission as well as important orientation and immunization information.

We look forward to seeing you on campus soon, and welcome you to the Gator Nation!

I guess college of engineering finally started looking at the fall term applications.
