I know this is too early to start a forum about but I like thinking ahead of time.
Well, I was thinking of spending one year at University of Michigan-Dearborn since they gave me a full ride but I already know that place isn't right for me. They don't even have the major I want-Neuroscience.
If I maintain a GPA of 4.0, will I have a good chance?
Also:
HS GPA I had 4.0 UW all 4 years and 4.3 overall cum.
AP: I took 6 AP classes
Involved in numerous clubs
ACT-27
One other question: WHEN do I apply? Should I begin late November and file for the FEB. 1 deadline? And what about financial aid? Do I tell fafsa to give me aid for Dearborn for Winter semester and then to Ann arbor...or...?
Any advice is appreciated. I KNOW this is too early to think about, but i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who is thinking of transferring after one year before even starting college. Thanks

Because you have such an impressive high school gpa I think you have an excellent chance of being accepted as a sophomore. If not then wait until the following year, once you have completed more college credits. But, honestly I think they will accept you. For FASFA you can always list a college even if you don’t get in, although why would you want financial aid for Dearborn if you received a full ride? I would just fill it out for Ann Arbor.

Well actually I received the second highest scholarship and with the financial aid it came out to be a full ride. And I i’m hoping my high school GPA will compensate for my ACT. My friend got in after being deferred with a 27 so I was a lil worried. Also, one more question, when do I start applying? This November? Thanks for replying.

bump

I believe that early decision is reserved for high school students only. It would be more beneficial to wait until the end of fall semester to submit those grades as well. The more the better. You will not have to worry about sending an updated transcript…less of a hassle. That’s when I’ll be sending my application over too. Oh, and yes you can apply for financial aid for both schools on FASFA.
