Hey guys, long term creeper on the site here, first time posting though. I just applied for UT Austin Fall 2018 semester a few weeks ago. Here are the stats:
Governement
3.4 gpa
4 LORs - 2 from professors, 1 from Director of Research place I volunteered for, and 1 from my boss
A ton of volunteer hours- around 200 over a year an a half
I interned at city hall for economic development for six months, and got hired on. Boss wrote a strong letter.
Short story published in Literary Journal
Regional position in student government plus some local positions
Phi Theta Kappa honor society member.
Decent Essays.
37 hours transferring, but by the time fall gets here I will have close to 50+ transferable hours.
What do yall think?
the average transfer gpa to UT for all majors is 3.69. that being said, the threshold for COLA is slightly lower, however i haven’t seen anyone on a thread be accepted with lower than a 3.6 or 3.5. You have a lot of quality extracurriculars, but typically they only look at those after they’ve seen your gpa, and unless you have very valid reasons in your essay’s for why your gpa is where it is, i don’t chance you highly, but i of course am not the admissions council, and you should definitely apply
I just noticed the date this was posted, i’m curious if you’ve heard anything back
