Transfer Fall2010

I want to get into the Engineering programs; however, I'm also applying for SAS and Business. I'm currently in my third year at community college and I hold a 3.710 GPA with 88 credits (but I believe it will go down this semester). I will graduate with three associates; however, they are not related with engineering in anyway.

What do you guys think? Should I post what class I've taken?

I think you’ll get in. Just remember RU only accepts 60 credits from a CC. Good luck!

My son’s roommate just transferred from a CC with an engineering related degree and he will take 3 years to get his degree. Just wanted you to be aware that if you do get in, it will most likely take you more than 2 years to get a degree in engineering. This past spring there were many students applying to the COE, so I would send in your application early.

I do realize that thy will only accept a limited amount of credits. How heavily do you think they will look at high school transcripts? Is it possible to get an interview?

I can’t say how much they considered the high school transcript, but I do know he had to have one sent, even though he had nearly completed 2 years at the University of Delaware. He did not have a formally scheduled interview, but he did speak personally with the dean there during one of the spring open houses. During that time he was shown the file cabinet with all the engineering transfer applicants, and there were many. He was concerned because he applied 3 weeks after the priority deadline. Fortunately, it all worked out. Actually everything has gone perfectly. He got a dorm room with a nice roommate. He was able to register for the classes he needed and they accepted enough credits that he will graduate on time. Everyone there in the engineering department has been very helpful. Good luck with everything!

Thanks for the information you have been very helpful.
