Hi guys,

I'm a Washington state resident currently attending college at UCSB down in Santa Barbara, California. I was rejected from the UW two years ago when I applied as a high school senior. I was an IB diploma student, 3.3 uw gpa/4.1 w gpa, 12 AP classes, 32 ACT.

Now I'm trying to transfer back because I simply can't pay the $50K tuition down in Santa Barbara, but also because I love Seattle and UW so much more than I like California. It's also better for my field of study - I'm trying to get into medical school - and I think there's more medical internships and opportunities up in Seattle.

I wanted to know what you guys think my chances of being accepted into the UW are. I currently am a chemistry/biochemistry major with a 3.53. I strugged my first quarter (no science courses) and got a 2.89, but I've boosted it up since and got a 3.85 and 3.95 for Spring and Winter quarter, both with Dean's honors. I also worked in the housing and residential department of UCSB throughout all of last year.

I know that my friend who was rejected in high school as well got in for fall with a 3.0 college GPA from Western Washington. Any ideas of what I should expect? Or tips?

Thanks!
