Hi,

I am planning on applying as an American Literature & Culture major this upcoming fall. My question is regarding the foreign language requirement; I took four years of Spanish during high school, which I believe satisfies the College of Letters & Sciences requirement. However, as a requirement for the major, it specifies that one year is needed...HOWEVER on assist.org it says that for the major that the 4th semester of one foreign language will satisfy the major's requirement. I am being thrown off by the "one year" wording. So, with my completion of four years of Spanish in high school, as well as the 4th semester of Spanish as SMC, will I have satisfied all foreign language requirements?
