Hey guys.

Quick question.

I'm looking at a couple of schools under the Western Undergraduate Exchange program.

And obviously to be eligible you need to have a god GPA etc...

I was wondering, can a freshman in college transfer to an out of state using that Western Undergraduate Exchange Program??

Cause it requires an SAT or ACT score.

I was wondering if I should take really easy @ss classes like Intermediate Algebra or something to get an easy high GPA.

Or am I being an idiot??

I really wanted to go to an out of state college for tons of reasons ( I won't name em)

I got accepted to a couple of out of state schools, but never ended up going because of out of state tuition and I never knew about WUE

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Not all participating WUE institutions will accept transfers.

Use this search feature to see if the schools you’re interested will accept WUE transfers.

Also getting the WUE tuition rate isn’t automatic, you must apply for the WUE reduced tuition rate when you apply to the school.

Right.

All 3 of my choices allow transfers.

These are also the 3 previous schools I’ve been accepted to, but could not attend due to out of state tuition :(

What I want to know is, is there any requirements on which classes to take during my 1st year in college.

I know there’s a requirement on GPA and credits to apply.

Like could I take some Intermediate Algebra college course? You know to boost up my GPA to get into the WUE program.

You need to contact each potential school and ask because each school will have its own policy.

Some schools (in fact, most of them) will not accept coursework that is considered remedial, nor count those courses in your GPA. Whether Intermediate Algebra is considered remedial will depend on each school’s policies.

No blanket answer to this. Sorry.
