I am currently a 2nd year at San Francisco State University and I plan on applying to transfer to ucr. I have an overall 3.25 (business major) assuming I were to do well this fall semester what are my chances of getting in?? Also what is the transfer process like? Can I still appeal if I were rejected? What are some good things to include in the personal statement?

Please leave any comments, every little bit helps... Thanks!!

Im from San Francisco, whats so bad about SFSU, their good in business too

Hey Jasmine,
You should be able to transfer pretty successfully. I suggest calling the admissions office and just have a quick conversation with them. The staff here was really helpful for me for all the questions I had when I transferred from a JC.

I just finished my first year there and I’ve loved the school a ton. If you end up here I’m sure you will too :)

Your probability of acceptance is fairly high because the UCs favor transfers from JCs. However, you must: (1) meet the UC admission requirements, (2) meet the selection criteria and complete lower-division courses for the intended major, and (3) complete courses to meet the general education requirements, prior to applying/entry to any UC.
thenomad415, quit trying to deter prospective students from applying to UC Riverside. Before you continue your bash on the institution please learn to differentiate between “their” and “they’re”.

Hm sfsu is a cal state not a jc… Does that make a difference?

I have a friend that transferred from CSUF to UCR
I would just give the admissions office a call if I were you. I’m sure they’ll tell you everything you need to know in a few minutes

@thenomad415 - you UCR drop out/Kick out, could it be possible that the difference is that one knows the difference between “THERE”, “THEY’RE” and “THEIR”?

Nothing against CSUs, still good schools, I just don’t like thenomad415’s UCR bashing
