I'm an International Area Studies major at Drexel University (also co-op), and am realizing the lack of a serious liberal arts program here. I'm considering transferring to Northeastern. It all really depends on how many credits would transfer. Just wanted to get some feedback of what anyone thinks about this, especially since I would be in my third year by the time I got there (Drexel with three co-ops is a five-year program anyway, so still a fair amount of time afterwards, I suppose).
Plus, Boston totally kicks it.

Forgot to mention I would be applying into the International Affairs major at NU

Well Northeastern has really expanded its liberal arts offerings as of late. This is the result of an ongoing plan to hire 100 new star faculty (70 or so have been hired so far). Also, Boston is certainly a great place to go to school and Northeastern has more of a traditional campus than most urban schools. I say go for it. But I am biased.

I should also point out that Northeastern recently (2003) switched from a quarter calendar to semester system. The change has substantially improved academics because the professors now have more time for simulations/group projects, and can explore the material in more depth (11 week quarters under the old system vs. 15 week semesters under the new calendar). The students also have more time for reflection which is extremely valuable in terms of digesting the material. IMO, semesters are far superior to quarters (I have experienced both).
