I'm an International Area Studies major at DU, and am realizing the lack of a serious liberal arts program here. I'm considering transferring to Northeastern (also co-op). It all really depends on how many credits would transfer. Just wanted to get some feedback of what anyone thinks abut this, especially since I would be in my third year by the time I got there.
Plus, Boston totally kicks it.

Well Northeastern has really expanded its liberal arts offerings as of late. This is the result of an ongoing plan to hire 100 new star faculty (70 or so have been hired so far). Here are some faculty profiles for Northeastern as a whole: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com...ad.php?t=199391

Also, Boston is certainly a great place to go to school and Northeastern has more of a traditional campus than most urban schools. Campus photos:

I say go for it! Northeastern is a great school in an amazing city!!!!

Hate to tell you this, but I hear a lot of people saying that they looked into transferring and the school wouldn't take their credits, because of the 10 week quarter system vs the other school's 15 week semesters. I think it depends on the school and the classes...I know someone that transferred to Temple who had to take 3 sequences of a class at Drexel to make it 'equal' to 2 classes at Temple. I don't know what kind of a system Northeastern runs on, but what you'd really want to do first is contact them and find out what the credit transfer situation will be.

Other than that, brilliant idea. ;)

Northeastern switched to a semester calendar in 2003. Like BlahDeBlah said, the OP should find out how many credits Northeastern will take.
