How hard is it to transfer internally from Liberal Arts to Business?

Its definitely not an insurmountable task. You have to have at least a 3.1 overall with 30 graded hours at A&M, and you have to have a B average between the two business math classes.

I spoke to an adviser and he said it’s a quite difficult to transfer.
I’m guessing you would have to get all As in the required classes?

Maybe the rules have changed in the past couple of years, but I transferred from general studies to business as a freshman, and they told me I would be automatically accepted if I got a 3.1 in 30 hours and had B average in my 2 math classes, as well as a B average in the math classes plus two other “qualifying” classes (english was on the list which I had already APed, and I took a speech class which I made an A in.

I pulled a 3.6 freshman year, but still nearly had some trouble bevcause I made low Bs in both business math classes.

Yeah, it looks like they did tighten up on their admissions for Mays: [Undergraduate Program at Mays Business School](<a href=“BBA Business Honors - Texas A&M University Mays Business School”>BBA Business Honors - Texas A&M University Mays Business School)

Thanks for the info.
Yeah, it’s probably more competitive now…

Has anyone else transferred internally to Business?

My sister transferred from general studies to business last fall with a 2.9 GPA. She had to write an essay about why her grades were low (I don’t know what it said) but she got in. It surprised me but I guess they consider people on a case by case basis.

wh09p, that’s inspiring :D

Thanks for sharing…
