Do you think that gives me an advantage? Or what, if any, do you think are additionally appealing traits for transfer students? Also, who else here is trying to transfer to NYU, specifically gallatin? Thanks!

I'm trying for NYU Steinhardt! I'm from an LAC too, Drew University in NJ. I REALLY want to get into NYU!!!!!!!

Have you guys visited the campus and done good research on NYU?

I really don't mean to sound like a downer, but I am among many unhappy students here at New York University and I just wouldn't want anyone to make a hasty decision coming to the city.

I actually plan on transferring and so do many of my friends so I've heard that it is fairly easy to get in as a transfer as their retention rate is somewhat low.

For some kids, NYU is perfect but if anyone has any questions I'd be more than willing to help!

Hey I'd love to talk to you about NYU..because after all, I'm at a completely residential campus LAC right now and am unhappy.. but I also don't know what it's like to live in a city. Maybe we could email? My email address is brodskyJ@kenyon.edu

What is it that you don't like about NYU?

Just FYI, I transferred from NYU (Tisch/CAS double major and I was admitted ED) to Drew (my brother was there and loved it). I am telling you from firsthand experience that the undergraduate academics at NYU (with the exception of Tisch, which was fantastic) are certainly no better, and oftentimes worse, than Drew's, they were TERRIBLE with financial assistance, and I found the faculty inaccessible and the student body pretentious.

I'm actually not going to NYU, but BU now, because of lack of financial aid from NYU. I guess that Drew is just not for everybody. Some people I know love it, and then there's others like me who weren't so crazy about it. Were you there this past year? What year are you?
