I have 2 questions. First off I want to know if it is possible to transfer from a CC (mt sac) to a UC with less than 60 units, and if so has anyone seen this done. The second question is whats the limit before I can re apply to a UC( highschoolda told me on here that i can reapply whenever but someone else told me 2 years so I jus want to clarify this). Thanks

1)you can definetly apply to UCs with less than 60 units completed by the end of spring. HOWEVER, it is best if you apply with junior standing, as that maximizes your chance for acceptance!

personally, i was a junior level transfer, but i didnt take the full 2 years to get 60 units. i was able to finish the 60 units in 5 consecutive quarters, which is far less than 2 years. i had only one AP class from HS to boot!

btw 60 semester units = 90 quarter units

2) you can reapply whenever!

UC only accepts students w/ 60 units done by spring, Some do allow u to attend summer school to fufill some reqs after the spring....

The only way u can get by w/ out 60 units is if u have AP credits... I know two people who have transfered like that 1 year.

U can always just apply and c what happens lol

60 units done by spring? You mean 60 units done by the end of spring right? Like i apply in the fall and notice them what classes i will take during the spring?

yep...............

are all community colleges equal when transferring to a UC? i want to go to mt sac because they have the summer bridge program( allows you to take a few classes in the summer and help high school students transition in to the college atmosphere) but my parents says that pcc has a better reputation than mt sac. deep down inside i believe that they think that mt sac is a hispanic dominated college bringing about the stereotype that they dont study hard and are a bunch of slack offs.

woops sorry about the necro post i thought this was the official mt sac thread
