So I am only in my second semester as a CC student (not counting summer). I have only completed 25 units but I am taking 20 this semester (only 15 of them transfer one is a remedial Math class). I will be planning on taking 20 more units next semester to have 60 units. I REALLY want to transfer next fall, because of the budget cuts I don't want to get stuck at my CC for an extra year. I plan on just going to a CSU if I can't get into a UC because there admissions is basically guaranteed if you have above a 2.5 but I really want to go to a really good school.
Anyways I was really curious if anyone knew if they may just automaticaly deny my addmissions because I only will have 25 units COMPLETED at the time of admissions. I am hoping they may defer my enrollment to the Spring. I know Berkeley did this with almost 500 applicants last year. Does anyone know why Berkeley does this?
I also did one semester at Montana State- Billings. I was an idiot and dropped out of my class yet was too stupid to drop them and recieved a 0.0 in 12 units... I know my Math class weas definitely not a transfer level class... does the UC system factor this in?
Anyways if you could chance me please...

Schools applying: Cal, UCSB, UCSD (I really mostly want to go to Cal... if not I will most likely go to Humboldt State just because I love how beautiful the area is).
Major: Sociology (PreLaw)
GPA: 3.77
Units Completed: 25
Units that will be completed by Spring '10: 60
Major Prep: 4.0 (Cal only requires SOC 101, an evidence class that is not offered at my CC and Stats which I am taking next semester.
IGETC: Will be completed
ECs: Non traditional student, I took a year and a half after my first semester in Montana. In that time I did a 10 month full time AmeriCorps program. This program looks very very good on applications and will give me a lot to talk about for my essay since I lived in about 6 different communities in the 10 months. I also recieved a congressional medal for service as well as The Presidential Service award and clocked in over 1700 hours during the 10 months. I have other various volunteer opportunites as well as have held a job for a long time.
Ok I think I have included everything... thanks for your time!
