Transfer from SMC to USC Marshall

Hi everyone, i am an international student. I will be starting my first year in SMC this fall and intends to transfer to USC Marshall. I was told by the counselor that i need a minimum of 30 units to be eligible to transfer as well as to do the TOEFL.

First Question:
I went to the USC transfer planning guide and saw that course required for admission includes Writing 130. However i checked on SMC website and it doesn't seems that they have any class on Writing 130, does anyone know how i can go about this ?

On the website it states that "If your school does not offer a course equivalent to WRIT130, you should take the strongest composition course available. This course may not be taken on a Pass/No Pass basis. Professional, technical, creative and remedial writing courses will not satisfy this requirement."

Second Question:
Prerequisites for direct admission to the Marshall School of Business: Writing 130 (Analytical Writing); MATH 118 (Fundamental Principles of the Calculus); MATH 125may be substituted for MATH 118.These courses must be completed by the end of the spring semester for admission consideration.

When it says these courses to be completed by end of spring semester, would that mean that i am not eligible to transfer by next year considering its fall sem now and i would probably not have enough transferable units ? So do i have to wait till next spring before i can apply for USC and then enter as a sophomore student ?

To answer your second question, you can apply for fall 2014 admission if the required courses will be completed by spring 2014 (so you can count this current fall semester and the following semester as in progress/planned).

1) SMC does have a course that is equivalent to USC’s WRIT 130. You may choose between ENGL 2 or ENGL 31 to fulfill this requirement.

2) Read what Animati0n said. He hit it spot on. If you fulfill all required courses, you can apply for Fall 2014 admission.
