Are there any universities will accept credit from Thomas Edison State College?

Will those universities also accept credits from Thomas Edison State College, earned through "prior learning assessment"?

TESC is a regionally accredited state university. Your state’s colleges should have articulation agreements with TESC to transfer credit. But it is all up to the transferring university (the one you plan to receive your degree from) and especially the major you transfer into. For example, for some Computer Science programs to even accept you, you must have taken Calc III, Programming, University Physics. Those things you can’t do through PLA or testing.

PLA may be transferred as general credits, not towards your major. Again, depends on the school/major.

Some schools have a limit on test credits like CLEP. Some schools don’t allow any CLEP credits at all. (I had 64; my uni would only take 60.)

Normally you can test out of all general education requirements like College Algebra, English Comp, Humanities, and foreign languages. Your new school’s registrar (or your dean) is the final arbiter.

NOTE: just because the catalog says you can’t do it doesn’t mean you can’t do it. You can file an appeal with your dean and possibly get rules waived. It will help if you have good grades at the new school, along with a good relationship with the department, and a logical reason for doing things your way; then you may get your way.

Question: why not finish at TESC and get a job or go to grad school? Why transfer?
