Transferring credits from my university to my local community college for an Associate's.

I’ve been in university for a couple of years. I still have about two years left. I decided that I want to take a break from school, and join the workforce for a while. I want to see if I can get an Associate’s before I join the workforce.

Would I be able to transfer my credits from my university to my local community college, and obtain an Associate’s?

You should ask the local community college. They would be the ones to know.

Look at the graduation requirements for your CC…our says: '. For all degrees and certificates at least fifty percent of students’ credits must be earned at XX Community College. For all degree programs a minimum of fifty percent of career studies credits required for degree completion must be earned at XX Community College."

Another option is Thomas Edison State College ( a legit public college in NJ)…they accept credits from almost any university and I think you could get an AA degree there.

I haven’t checked but I seem to have the idea that within some state school systems credits can be transferred between colleges. Still might have some restrictions, so it still pays to contact the CC you are interested in.
