Transfer from UC Berkeley to CU Boulder?

I’m currently a first semester second year at UC Berkeley and have had a difficult time this past semester. I just don’t find myself being as happy here and as I think I may be able to be somewhere else, and think that maybe I chose Berkeley for the wrong reasons in the beginning. I am originally from Boulder, CO so I am very familiar with the area but also love the university. My only hesitation in transferring lies in regretting leaving a school like Berkeley to go to a school which is much easier academically and not nearly as well regarded as Berkeley. I know that academically and socially I would accel at CU Boulder but, like I said, my hesitation lies in regretting leaving a blue chip school like Berkeley to go to a less well regarded University like CU. Thoughts?

Where would you be in-state and what would the cost be each way? Are you able to keep your grades up at UC Berkeley? What is your major?

I would be in-state in Colorado, but cost is not an issue. Yes, I can keep my grades up at Berkeley, however I don’t know if I’d be able to maintain my happiness given the one-dimensional, heads down 24/7 vibe on campus. My major is currently in economics and political science.

Don’t go to CU if you think it is an inferior school. You should go to the school you think you fit with best.
