Transfer GPA

I am currently an economics/math major. I am just finishing my sophomore year at an average university. I am considering transferring to another university. However I have done really well at my current university and have maintained a high GPA. So I was wondering when I am applying to grad schools will I be able to show and calculate my GPA from my first university into the GPA of the university I would transfer to?

Colleges only calculate yout gpa from courses taken at the respective colleges

I am sorry I am a little confused. So my freshman and sophomore years will not be looked at when applying to grad schools?

The grad schools do look at your GPA during transfer applications but once you're in, that GPA remains separate from your future GPA (unless there is some college that actually combines your previous GPA).

For example you earn a 4.0 at College A and want to transfer to College B. The admissions office accepts you based upon your 4.0 GPA and the rest of your app. Now say you have earned a 3.6 GPA at College B. Your final transcript for College B will not show a 3.8 GPA.

If you were to show your transcript to an interviewer for a career and they asked for all 4 years you would have to show them your separate GPA from both schools, otherwise it may be interpreted as you having gone to College B for all 4 years.
