Transfer- GWUSB

Hey guys!
So I've decided to apply for transfer as a Junior for Fall 2012 to GW. I currently go to Virginia Tech, and I love VT and there is nothing wrong with tech it's just not the school for me. I am a student in the Pamplin Business school as a Finance major, and I am also a theatre minor. I just wanted to hear some feedback from any students or alumni from the GWUSB program.

I'm not really sure if I'm going to stick to finance, because I haven't really taken any classes for it since here at tech your first two years are strictly pre requisite courses to the upper level (in major) classes. I have taken macro/micro (not that I did well- not much of an econ person), accounting part 1/2, and so on.

I'm actually doing the application now, but can't move on from the first part of the application, because I haven't decided on which major I wanted to do, and I prefer not to go in (if i get in) undeclared.

So I was just wondering:
1)How good is GW's network in terms of internships/job prospects.
2)Possibly give your 2 cents on a little bit of some popular majors within GWUSB
3) and whatever else you might have to say about GWUSB or GWU in general!

Thanks! and sorry that this was kind of long!

I guess I don’t have much to offer since I’m still a freshman at GWUSB. But my cousin graduated from GWUSB, and I asked the same thing about networking and internships. He said that DC pretty much benefits anyone going into politics and that there actually aren’t a lot of internships related to finance. He said he was lucky that he even got an internship. Oh and he’s a finance major also.
GW is pretty popular with finance, international business, and marketing. But international business is GWUSB’s specialty. The quality of the program has been consistently ranked at the top.
I personally believe that some of the requirements that GW makes you take as a business student are useless. For example they make you take this course called FYDP that pretty much teaches you things that you already know (ex. ethics, diversity). The only thing I got out of it was how to write a proper resume. But this is only for first years, so I don’t know if you would actually have to take it as a transfer. They also make you take other courses that aren’t really related to your major because they want you to be well rounded. Anyway, GW overall isn’t bad. If you do transfer to GW, I would suggest joining the finance and investment club because they are legit. They bring in speakers talking about how to get recruited and the process, and they manage portfolios as practice.
