Hi,
My child is currently 12th grade student in a highly competitive school in NW Austin and is currently ranked 10% in the school. Unfortunately we have to move outside of Austin to rural area for job reasons and thinking of moving my child to rural school district in middle of 12th grade.
I have few questions for this forum and would kindly appreciate your guidance especially from parents/students that experienced similar situation:
- I heard the move can actually improve my child's chances of auto-admit to UT Austin as it will be easier to be below top 6% in rural high school based on my child's current GPA & class ranking at this competitive high school. Is this true and/or can any of you comment/provide any additional information?
- Do we need to send high school transcript from both schools or just the new school for college application process?
- Does UT Austin auto-admit consider new rural high school transcript GPA & class ranking or both schools transcripts as my child will transfer in middle of 12th grade?
Any additional information or feedback you can provide whether or not this will help or hurt my child’s application process would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your comments and/or feedback.
