International Transfer into US [Texas] HS Sophomore year

We are looking into move into Austin thereabouts. My kid will be finishing the equivalent of freshman year outside US and will be transferring into sophomore year for the next academic year (2023-24). She is a US citizen.

Her GPA for the freshman year will not be counted and only few credits will be transferred over.

How does this impact her admission chances into UTs since she would have only 10/11th GPA ? Will she be considered for auto-enrollment ? If anyone has been through this before and has insights, please share it.

Each school district has a handbook which covers the class rank issue. I think your child will be fine with 10 and 11th grade only

Depends on the how the high school handles class rank for incoming transfers. If there is a choice of high schools, check each one.
