So I posted here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/18366381
And Well USC did not pane out. They wanted so much money from me and wouldn’t look at my current economical situation. Which is fine. I knew they had the option to consider me a dependent even after all other things happening in my life.
So know I am trying to find college that take transfers. The schools I am interested in are:
Dream-
Calarts
Match
Chapman
Loyola Marymount
Stella Adler
Safety-
Lacc
CSULB
AMDA
I know there are other schools but being a transfer I’m unsure with how I will look to them. I am wondering if I should add peperdine or occidental to the list. I had Juliard and NYC Tisch but my grade for my CS classes at usc brought my GPA down to 3.1.
Okay. So anything you want to say about the situation? I don’t think the order of how I rank my schools really matters in this situation. Unless it does. In which it would be helpful to know why it matters. I understand schools where you audition are harder to get into.
My understanding is that a match school is one you can get into with your stats…so when you throw the audition portion into the mix I would move Chapman to the reach position. Also Chapman is pricey so it may be an issue as well. Not sure a 3.1 will get you in there as they do care about grades and courses taken. Occidental has a high requirement for GPA as well. Pepperdine requires that you attend church so if that is an issue for you you may want to rethink that one.
USC has there own policy when it comes to dependent status for school aid. So the fasfa does see me as an independent where USC sees me as a dependent. They told me over the phone they can see me as a dependent for as long as they want. :’[
HS I got a 3.7 CSUF I got a 3.9 and usc I have a 3.1 In all my acting classes I have got As.
When it comes to tuition I have a low efc so most schools grant aid. Plus I am not worried to much because my husband has a very good job.
Any one have recommendations for any schools I should consider?
I think it’s a pretty good list. You will definitely get into AMDA if you have any talent at all, so there’s your safety and the rest seem perfectly reasonable to me.
