I'm hoping to transfer to UCSB this fall, and I have no idea where to live! I have no interest in the transfer apartments and would prefer a res hall, but most of them are freshman only. I've been looking at Manzanita and I really like it, but I've heard it's considered the antisocial dorm. And I don't know much about San Raphael, except that it's mostly upper classmen and transfers. I do have friends at UCSB already, but I'm pretty social and want to meet new people, so my questions are:
1. Is Manzanita actually antisocial? (I'd like to hear from someone who lived there/knows a lot about it)
2. What is San Raph like?
3. Are the other res halls freshman only? Do any sophomores/upperclassmen live there? (I mean other halls like Anacapa, San Nic etc. not FT)
4. Any transfers live in IV? Did you like it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

manzi is only antisocial if you choose to be antisocial and cliquey, i found my experience to be quite the opposite.

san raf is crappy, like really crappy. there is no point in living there over manzi imo, manzi is so much nicer

other halls are first years only

idk never lived inIV. dont plan to
