Without any AP credits, I am a sophomore at George Mason University. I am a business major, interested in finance/accounting and really want to transfer to a better school Fall 11. My top school is UVA, then U. Michigan, USC, and others.

High School:
3.67 GPA
1280 SAT/1980

College (GMU):
Transfered 22 credits from APs and 11 credits from taking summer classes at NOVA

1st semester-
Took mostly soph/junior level classes
Took 14 credits, got 11 (b/c failed a class. terrible)

2nd semester-
Took 6 credits b/c had to work, financial reasons

3rd semester- (present)
Took mostly business intro classes (acct, statistics)
Taking 15 credits. Most likely to get all A's

GPA after 3rd semester: 3.4-3.55

So in summary, I transferred in 33credits. With this Fall semester done, I'll have taken 32 credits at GMU, a combined total of 65 credits. I have gotten all A's except for 1 B and 1 F in my classes.

The problem is I don't have a perfect GPA due to a failed class; (probably be a 3.4-3.55 after this semester) and I know the top business schools are hard to get into. So instead of straight up applying to UVA's McIntire School of Commerce as a junior, I want to try to apply to the College of Arts and Sciences as a sophomore.
Is this even possible to transfer like this? Because with just the credits I taken at GMU, I am a sophomore but if I take in account of the APs/NOVA classes, I am a junior.

On UVA's transfer course requirement page, it says I need to complete 30/60hrs for soph/junior. Would AP credit count as part of the 30 or only classes you taken at college count?
(Transfer Course Requirements, Transfer Students, Undergraduate Admission, U.Va.)

OR
Are there any UVA students here that can tell me if I transfer into UVA to the CAS as a junior, then apply to the school of commerce as a senior? (This depends if they count AP credits as part of the required 60 credit hours)

I know UVA is hard to get into, but what do you think of my changes? I'm also applying to JMU, vtech and other easier schools.
Thanks for reading. Really appreciate it.
