What counts toward the "completed at least 30 semester-hrs"?

At my current school George Mason University, I transferred in 22 credit hours from APs and 11 from summer classes at NOVA.

I am now apply to UVA for Fall 11. On their site, it says to get into the College of Arts and Sciences, I need to complete at least 30 semester-hours. Does only courses I have taken at college count toward that 30hours?
(Transfer Course Requirements, Transfer Students, Undergraduate Admission, U.Va.)

If APs count toward the required 30hours, then I will have around 60credits, so I'll be a junior.

Also, it says students transferring after 2 years should have 60 credits, so does that mean I have to transfer as a junior? (I'm a sophomore at GMU)

From my knowledge, most colleges don’t count AP credits in their required number of credits. They will however give you the AP credit according to their AP standards after you have transfered.

Thanks! Yeah, I’ll give them a call just to double check.

Do you know if I have to apply as a junior if I have been to college for 2 years? Is it possible to apply as a sophomore because I don’t have the required 60credit hours to transfer as a junior? (Was a part-time student one semester)
