Hi

I am considering transferring from USC to HYPS, Wharton, Columbia College and MIT. Does anyone have experience about success rate if I have a 4.0 and good rec letters with considerable research experience (possibly a publication as well)? Where do USC transfers usually get into? Any tips at all?

Thanks

bump. Seriously no one knows?

I think you're asking a question that has an obvious answer.

I don't think USC student usually opt out to transfer in large proportions that they create a list of where they end up. USC is not high school or a community college. Students who go to USC are there for their 4 year academic career.

Your shots at transferring into HYP Wharton Columbia and MIT, are the same shots of any community college trying to transfer. You don't have an advantage just because you're coming out of USC.

Don't be silly; of course there is an advantage, but it will not outweigh the need for amazing stats. There is an advantage coming from USC over many schools simply given how (relatively) competitive it is to get in and the perceived rigor of the courses, but you're going to need really solid and personal recommendations, excellent essays, and a GPA as close to a 4.0 as you can get to get into any of the schools you listed, and even then the odds are stacked against you. What are your stats (e.g.: GPA, SAT/ACT, SAT II, ECs, hooks) and what is your year? Your high school record will be hugely important if you are a freshman transfer candidate.

you have no shot at princeton because they take zero transfers and no shot at harvard because they will not take transfers next year.
