If there is anyone that has transferred to UConn on here that would like to give me some help, that would be swell.
When you applied, how fast did you hear news back?
What was your college GPA at and what were your SAT/ACT scores?
Do you think your high school transcript and scores mattered when they made a decision?
Thanks for ANY answers, anything would be great
My daughter transferred in back in 2012 (currently a senior). I don’t remember how long it took for her to hear after applying. She applied to UCONN as a senior and was branched (not offered admission at Storrs). She went to U Tampa for one semester (hated it), then to a local community college (in CT), then to UCONN as a transfer first semester sophomore year. Her GPA at Tampa was a 3.4 (she also withdrew from a class), GPA at the comm. college was a 3.8. I DEFINITELY think that HS grades and SATs matter (especially if transferring as a soph). She had a 3.5 GPA and maybe a 1750 SAT? I do believe (in my opinion) that it is easier to gain admission as a transfer student then it is as a freshman. BTW, all of her CC courses transferred over to UCONN, but not all her Tampa classes did. Good Luck!!
Thank you! my college GPA is a 3.76 as of right now but my high school stats aren’t too stellar so I’m nervous. I have heard that it is easier to get in as a transfer than as a freshman. When I first applied I was senior but I also got branched at Avery Point and decided to go to Eastern Connecticut State University. I just hope my improvement from high school to college is enough
Bump^ Also curious about these questions.
UConn used to state on their website that they take into account high school academics for applicants with fewer than 24 credits, but I can’t find that statement on the website anymore. Since they require standardized test scores for applicants with fewer than 24 credits they’re clearly going to take it into consideration.
I technically have 30 credits, but I’m not positive on how many credits will transfer over to UConn. Like I said, if they pay attention to my high school academics I hope they will take consideration of my current college GPA. I just hope that is my saving grace lol
