<p>I most likely won't be transferring but I was looking into it and came across Columbia. I transferred last year from a good state school to a top 20 liberal arts school. I had a 3.5 GPA my first semester at my new school and a 3.8 at my old school. I was wondering how competitive it is for transfers especially since I would be entering as a junior? And do they give interviews? I live right outside NYC so I'm close. Thanks!</p>

they prefer sophomore transfers (makes it easier to finish the core), and the process of transfers is probably as selective as it is for ugrads. somewhere in the 10% range for selectivity.
