Transfer? or stay

Hello,

I'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong spot.

I am currently a freshman student at University of San Francisco as a Biochemistry major. Although I'm a student here, I'm not really familiar with if people who graduate from here find jobs, or get into grad/med schools.

In this case, i was thinking about transfering to UC San Diego. What GPA and do you think I need to transfer there? They take priority for community college students so I dont know if i have a chance or not.

Any chance you know if people who graduate from USF get to where they want with there life as science majors?

Thank you,

If you are a community college student, you can’t get into graduate school without a BS/BE.
Whenever possible, your GPA should be as high as possible.

^^

Strong reading comprehension fail.

OP, I have no idea. Good luck.

If you get out of USF and go to a CC, then you can TAG (transfer admission guaranteed) into UCSD, in which case you’ll need at least a 3.0 and have your IGETC completed. And also, you can just apply directly to UCSD after you completed 90 quarter units or 60 semester units at a CC. The TAG contract is 100% in, unless you fail to maintain a 3.0 or claim that you finish your IGETC when you actually didn’t. Correct me if I’m wrong, as new knowledge is always welcomed.

Or… just stay at USF and then transfer to UCSD from there. Although I must say, transferring priorities are given to mostly CC students. And you’re also paying 50k each year there, hehe (That is if you don’t have financial aid, but I’m just stating the cost =))

On a side note, may I ask you why you want to opt out on USF?
