So I have transfer orientation this weekend, well starting Sunday - Anyone have any input on what to expect? (I assume it’s more or less the same as regular orientation except I’ll be hearing “Even though you’re a transfer student, you’re still part of the BC family” or some lame thing like that lol)

Dear bceaglefan : Your program is available online at the following link.

The agenda is amazingly similar to the standard freshman orientation session with the exception that your cohort group will come together with collegiate rather than just high school experiences. I would not look at this as a negative but rather a positive as the maturity levels might be different and you will be able to start building your support and friendship infrastructure with peers who have walked a similar transfer road.

Not an expert on orientations, but in my limited orientation experience, BC goes way beyond the standard stuff, particularly for parents. Not to be missed.

Dear bluebayou : Let me augment my statement with context - “The agenda is amazingly similar to the standard Boston College freshman orientation session”. Agreed that the sessions are far above and beyond what is offered at most universities - in both the student and parent tracks.

^^Aha, agreed!

Just finished Transfer Orientation (I started this post) - Hmm let’s see - 1) Boring 2) Not amazing 3) Not life changing 4) Way too much b.s./nonsense 5) Why are we playing “break the ice” - type games - 6) I love BC and everything, but not the orientation sessions - Too much talking
