Transfer out of NYU. Do I even have a shot

Hey everyone, I just finished my first semester at NYU and ended with a 3.35 (Almost had a 3.5 if it wasn't for a bad math grade). Anyways, I know my GPA is kinda low to transfer to some of the schools I am applying too, but I was wondering what my chances are at these five schools...

Emory (n/a)
Vanderbilt (average transfer gpa 3.5)
UNC-CH (3.4)
Cornell ILR (3.5)
University of Michigan (3.5)

Although I had a low gpa, I had a TON of E.C. for a first year student. I worked 10-15 hours a week at an NYU office, am president of my schools freshman class, in a select jazz choir, cast in a school musical for next semester, On two e-boards within student government, active in a few other clubs and I had mono.

So can anyone give me some feedback as to my chances. Like I said Ik my gpa is low but I was hoping since I'm coming for NYU and have a lot of E.C.s it may help.

Oh and h.s. stats:
3.65 gpa mostly honors/ap
28 ACT
Vice president of class for four years, a bunch of other clubs, varsity sports, a bunch of select music ensembles, musical, volunteered 100 hours a year, and won a bunch of awards/scholarships

Thank you!!!

Transfer chances are always tricky. Why would you want to transfer? Sounds like you’re having a great time.

I want the real college experience, and I hate being in NYC

I can only really give you insight for UNC, as thats where I transferred. In your case there is good and bad news. UNC pays alot of attention to ECs and really focuses on getting well rounded applicants, so that helps you. However, it is substantially harder to get in as a transfer sophomore than a transfer junior. If your essay is bomb I’d say give it a try. Would you be wanting to continue a double in journalism and econ at your new university? Also, I know what you mean generally by wanting the real college experience (as I have seen NYU’s lack of a campus) but what kind of a REAL university experience are you looking for? Do you want to know everyone on campus, or to have a big place where there are plenty of places to find your niche? good questions to ask yourself while considering the transfer. PM me if you have any particular questions about UNC, and good luck!
