Transfer plan to Cal poly SLO computer science?

I wanna plan ahead so I don’t make any mistakes in community college because i wanna transfer in 2 years to Cal poly SLO. I am taking calculus classes in secondary school right now so I guess i’m ready to start with calculus right away in CC. I’m thinking of going to SBCC

So if i’m following these requirements http://admissions.calpoly.edu/applicants/transfer/criteria17/cscsea.html , how does the plan below sound like?

First semester of CC:

Math 150(5 units)
Mechanics of Solids and Fluids(5 units)
CS 120(3 units)

Second semester of CC:
Math 160(5 units)
Electricity and Magnetism(5 units)

Third semester of CC:
Math 200(4 units)
Heat, Light and Modern Physics (5 units)

Fourth semester of CC:
Math 220(4 units)

Then i’ll have to throw in Speech and English comp somewhere.

I’m using this to see what class articulates http://web2.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=SBCC&ria=CPSLO&ia=SBCC&oia=CPSLO&aay=15-16&ay=16-17&dora=CSC

So that’s all the requirements done in order to transfer done but obviously i need more units in order to be able to transfer so what classes do i take to fill the semesters out and how many units should i take each semester?

It is a good plan if you can get into all the classes based on your time table. You also need to fit in your CSU GE requirements:

The CSU GE- Breadth Requirements is a lower-division 39 semester(58.5 quarter) unit pattern. Transfer students must take specified courses in the areas of:

Area A — English Language Communication and Critical Thinking
Area B — Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning
Area C — Arts and Humanities
Area D — Social Sciences
Area E — Lifelong Learning and Self-Development
Each California Community College has a list of courses that can be used in each of the areas. (The list is also available at www.assist.org.)

@Gumbymom Okay so i remade the plan, it’s now also including the IGETC requirements, I don’t know if i should go for IGETC or GE completion. Do I need to complete the IGETC in order to be admitted to a CSU? I know that for UC’s if you are trying to transfer to a engineering major or CS etc you don’t need to have completed the IGETC.
I think the art requirement is so stupid. According to this plan I would end up with 68 units completed at CC, taking 19 units my third semester and 18 my fourth semester. I would really want to complete math 220 too but it’s not possible if I have to complete the whole IGETC or CSU GE sequence.

First semester of CC:
Math 150(5 units)
CS 140(4 units)
ENG 110(3 units)
ENG 111(3 units)

Second semester of CC:
Math 160(5 units)
Mechanics of Solids and Fluids(5 units)
COMM 131(3 units)
Area 3 (3 units)

Third semester of CC:
Math 200(4 units)
Electricity and Magnetism(5 units)
BIOL 100(4 units)
Area 3 (3 units)
Area 3 (3 units)

Fourth semester of CC:
Math 210(4 units)
Heat, Light and Modern Physics (5 units)
Area 4 (3 units)
Area 4 (3 units)
Area 4 (3 units)

Alright, so i looked around a little and you don’t need to have completed the whole GE or IGETC sequence to transfer to a CSU either. So according to this suggested CS flowchart at CPLSO http://flowcharts.calpoly.edu/downloads/mymap/13-15.52CSCBSU.pdf there’s 24 quarter units of GE courses the last 2 years which should be equal to 16 semester units. That means I should be able to take the Area 3 and 4 courses at CPSLO instead when i have transferred right? That would make life easier at CC.

First semester of CC:
Math 150(5 units)
CS 140(4 units)
ENG 110(3 units)
ENG 111(3 units)

Second semester of CC:
Math 160(5 units)
Mechanics of Solids and Fluids(5 units)
COMM 131(3 units)

Third semester of CC:
Math 200(4 units)
Electricity and Magnetism(5 units)
BIOL 100(4 units)

Fourth semester of CC:
Math 210(4 units)
Math 220 (4 units)
Heat, Light and Modern Physics (5 units)

This plan is 54 units and meets all the requirements listed at http://web2.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=SBCC&ria=CPSLO&ia=SBCC&oia=CPSLO&aay=15-16&ay=16-17&dora=CSC , http://www.csumentor.edu/planning/transfer/basic_skills.asp and http://admissions.calpoly.edu/applicants/transfer/criteria17/cscsea.html. But I would need to add like 2 more courses to get over 60 units in total.

Is having completed the whole IGETC or GE sequence important in terms of admission?

For the CSU’s, they want you complete the Golden four GE requirements before transfer.

Oral Communication: Basic public speaking course. Other communication courses that are certified by a California community college will be accepted.
Written Communication: Typically a freshman composition course that emphasizes essay writing or reading and writing concurrently.
Critical Thinking: Typically your second semester composition or writing course, or a course in reasoning and effective argumentative writing.
Mathematics: This course must be beyond intermediate algebra.

And you need to finish the required major prep at the minimum. Any recommended courses are a bonus.
