Hey. I am a freshman at VT trying to transfer to UVA this fall to be a political science major. I was waitlisted when I applied from high school. I had a 3.7gpa, 1310 on the SATs, and 3-4 IB classes. I have a lot of good extracurriculars from high school as well as three years experience working on Capitol Hill. I am also an in-state resident. My first semester gpa at VT was a 3.76 taking 14 credits. I am also planning to join a club or two before I send in my application. If I have good essays, what do you think my chances of getting in are?

Damn, it's looking like I have no chance for UVA.... giving up now. Your GPA is great. Good luck! and have fun in my place as a Polsci major.

hey, what are your classes this semester? I'm polsci at VT too.

if you are applying for the fall semester with a GPA of 3.7+ you will most likely get in.

thoughts from anyone else?
