Transfer query

Im currently at the end of my sophomore year in electronics engineering.

I will be starting my junior year in august (2010-2011) at my university.

Is it possible for me transfer internationally as a junior for the year(2011-2012) into following universities?
(i.e I will be losing 1 year at my current university and I will starting my junior year(2011-2012) at the university I transfer to)

Georgia Tech
Clemson
Cal Poly
UC Berkeley

Do any universities in the US allow this?
Also Im one year younger to my grade.

Unless you don’t plan on attending class at all next year, no they won’t allow it. They usually base your acceptance, as a junior, on the amount of credits you will transfer over. Many colleges won’t take over 60.

So by not attending classes next year, I will be able to transfer as a junior by losing one year?

But I only want to transfer credits of my freshman and junior year.

I only want to attend classes(backup plan) in case I dont get accepted as a transfer.

Please anyone with an answer?

EDIT:

Is it possible to apply for transfer as a senior?

According to collegeboard, the following universities accept transfer at the senior level,

Georgia Tech
Clemson
Texas A&M
Calpoly
State University of New York Binghampton
UC Michigan
UC Illinois

So is there a better chance of me getting through as junior(by losing one year) or senior?

Are you in a US college? Chances of accepting your credits are lower if you’re in a school with less likely courses.
Yep, like one said they accept hopefully 60 credits. And if you’re one semester to the end, they won’t accept you. The period for transfer is finishing one year and being one semester prior to the end.

I suggest you to finish your bachelor and try to apply for masters, since winning transfer admissions happens once in a blue moon

No I am not in a US college. Im thinking of transferring for the spring academic year in Calpoly. Thanks for the info.

Donno about Calploy, furthermore some colleges have policy of admitting internationals for fall semester only (even for freshman). But possibilities vary.

bon chance

Calploy???

I’m sorry to break it to you but according to your description of you situation, Calpoly is going to be almost impossible for you
