Just wondering, generally how hard is it to transfer into USC?

I am a freshman. My grades for my first semester of college were not what I expected- I passed all of them, but two of the classes I came out with a C- the others were B/B+s and A's. So my gpa is a 2.7 right now. Next semester won't be as "stressful" for me, since my schedule is going to be better and i won't be taking a lab next semester. I'm hoping to obtain a 3.1-3.3 GPA (if I get straight A's/ one-two B+s). Plus some other things that have been going on in my life will not happen next semester.

My major is biological sciences. I don't know if I should send my first semester transcripts in or not yet, since the deadline is may 4th or so for all credentials for transfer students. I'm going to get in contact with admissions but I don't really know what to say/ask, except "Is there any way that before a decision is made, my spring semester grades/cumulative GPA will be looked at?" I usually do better in the spring anyways, I KNOW it's going to be better. I'm just afraid i'll be denied if I just send in this fall semester transcript.

on one of the threads on this forum, I saw that USC does not accept transfer students until the spring semester grades are turned in. Is this true? and is this generally true for other schools as well (because I applied to other schools as well).

Not really sure at all about anything transfer related.

But I have a friend who was asking me about transferring and I looked at their website.

The transfer application isn’t due until July 1 and credentials are not due until August 3…

So that makes me think they probably want your spring grades. And that you don’t need to start applying until the spring anyways. However, it also makes me think that you could probably apply before the semester is over and they might give you a conditional acceptance and then want your final grades by August 3. But honestly, I have no clue. So whenever you talk to the Admissions Office, why don’t you post back here so that you can help everyone else out? :)
