transfer question?

ok from what I’m aware with the exception of certain Ivy league schools most universities have different GPA requirements for students coming in from a community college vs incoming freshman. I was wondering what is the minimum GPA requirement to get accepted into UC Berkeley as a philosophy major and a community college transfer student?

The minimum to apply to any UC in-state is a 3.0 UC weighted capped GPA but that will not get you into UCB as a Freshman. You want to have around a 4.0+ UC weighted capped GPA for the best chances as a Freshman applicant. GPA is only part of your application, so you need competitive test scores, outstanding essays and EC’s.

hmm I knew the minimum requirements would be high but wasn’t sure of this I got a paper from my schools counselor saying to get into UC Davis as a transfer I would only need a 2.7 knowing Berkeley was the same system I assumed it would be fairly close to that idk I guess that’s a good motivator to help raise my grades though lol I’m at like a 1.7 right now had a rough first year but my grades vastly improved this year. Still got a few years before I can transfer still have time to get help to get in the A/B range but yea didn’t know that

If you check the link for the transfer by major, the admit range for UCD is 3.29-3.73. You would have a hard time transferring into any UC with a 2.7 even UC Merced.
