I am applying to transfer to UConn for Economics in the Arts and Sciences school. The required GPA for a transfer to Arts and Sciences is 2.7 as stated on the UConn website. I currently have a GPA of 2.83 and even though it’s higher than the requirement, will UConn accept me as the GPA is not too high…
Also I’m an international student currently studying at a US university.
I transferred to UConn as an Economics major, too! My GPA was higher (around a 3.55 or 3.60), but I had no problem getting in. They are less selective with transfer students because (I think), they’re trying to fill the spots of people in the sophomore, junior and senior graduating classes who have left the university. With that said, this year was more competitive than usual for the freshman class which has been the trend recently for a variety of reasons. It doesn’t hurt to apply–it could go either way as far as I’m concerned. If you do get accepted and get in, it’s a good choice. UConn is a good school and a fun school.
