Uconn Storrs Fall 2015 Transfer GPA Requirement Question.

So Uconn has a transfer requirement of a 2.7GPA. My GPA is currently a 2.42. I know its low but I want to transfer to Uconn for Fall 2015. So this semester I'm taking 5 courses (15 credits), passing them with B's currently, so at the end of this semester my GPA should go above a 2.5. However I will repeating two courses during the winter session because i received a D and C- in those two courses, and when I'm done it would probably raise my GPA even more, maybe above a 2.6 or 2.7.

So my question is if I don't have a 2.7GPA, can I still apply to UCONN? Lets say after this semester and the winter session, my GPA is around a 2.6+. Will UCONN take into consideration the current courses that I will be taking in Spring, that will eventually raise my GPA above a 2.7? I know a 2.7 doesn't mean i would get accepted but still Its worth trying to get into their accounting program.

The reason why my GPA is low is because i switched majors from Bio to ACC and i wasn't that great in bio.

Truthfully, if you are applying for the Fall 2015 semester, they are most likely to look at your first semester GPA because they are your most current grades before the deadline. I think they only take notice of your spring semester after you have been accepted and make sure you’ve kept up your grades.
That being said, I don’t think they will stop you from applying but I also don’t think they’ll make the assumption that your grades will improve next semester.
If you worked hard for your grades then go for it, you have nothing to lose (besides 70 bucks, oops).
This is a late response but I hope everything works out for you
