Transfer School

Hey guys,

Im looking for a little advice on what schools I might be able to transfer to. Right now, I am attending Florida Atlantic University and I am really not happy with the quality or the reputation of the school. I would love to transfer somewhere with a better reputation, but I do not know where I can get in.

I have a 3.7 GPA and I will have about 54 credits after this semester (end of my sophomore year). My SAT score was about a 1200 out of 1600 (yes I know not so good, that is why I am at FAU in the first place).

Basically what I am asking is if you guys think I have a chance at getting into a top 50 university as a transfer and if so which one? Are there any top schools that do not look at SAT scores and just your college record?

BTW, I am a political science major so any school would need to have a political science department.

Thanks in advance for your help

Any ideas?

what was your hs gpa? what are your ec's?

I think my hs gpa was like 3.2 or somewhere around there. I have solid work experience but other then that very little ECs

hs gpa won't hold much weight since your a sophomore in college. Most recent academic work is more important.

Are you looking for a private or a public school ?

Id consider either one. I am mainly just looking for the highest quality and most prestigious universities that I can get into. Ive started to look at Virginia and George Washington University because I have heard good things about their political science programs, but I am not sure whether or not I can get into either one.

You should have a fair chance at GWU. For that school, you don't have to submit SAT/ACT scores or a hs transcript if you have at least 30 transferable credits.
You do have to write an essay and have faculty recommendations..

Not sure about Virginia, but you can check out their website
