"transfer shock" after transfering to a university. pretty bad situation, please help

i know this has been talked about over and over on this forum but i feel as though my situation was a bit different.

Heres what happened:

-spent two and a half years after high school at a community college. before finishing my AA, i was granted early admission to UCF (orlando). Even though i had ONE class left at valencia, i went ahead and transfered to ucf. I went from having 15 people in a class at valencia to 1500 in EACH class. I was taking four of these classes and ended up doing horrible. i got 2 F's and 2 D's. Ive never gotten either of those grades and have shown that im a pretty good student in the past. (3.3 GPA) I believe i just got "transfer shock" and even though its not an excuse, it really messed me up.

My issue: I now know that i need a smaller school in order to do well. ive looked into it and selected FGCU as a school i want to attend. Its near my hometown and it has very small classes for my major (finance). ive really outgrown orlando, i know if i stay here that i will continue to do worse because its just not working out with UCF. I went over the application requirements and i satisfy everything except a small technicality.

The requirements state that i must be in good acedemic standing at the last institution attended. Since it was my first semester at UCF. I was placed on acedemic probation because they do not factor in previous GPA, only the GPA at UCF.

so basically, im screwed. Im currently taking my last class at valencia this summer and will be done in a few weeks. what can i do about all this? what if i just didnt send in my UCF transcript? it was only a semester. How can one semester hold me back from getting into a university when i have proved i was a good student in the past?

Please help,
Nick

would getting recommendations help?

"what if i just didnt send in my UCF transcript? "

Dont even THINK about trying this. All Colleges contact the National Student Clearinghouse for enrollment verification of applicants.
http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/</a>
If your new college finds out you did not disclose your prior enrollment you will be expelled.
Contact , and go and see someone in the admissions office at FCGU and explain your situation. Your prior GPA , and a truthful explanation for your grades at UCF should qualify you for acceptance.
Good luck .

that seems like a good idea. i emailed the admissions officer and she never even replied though. i could go in person its just four hours away.

Pick up the phone and call the school you are interested in and ask to speak to an admissions counselor and if needed, make a face to face appointment.
