Transfer student-Are my GPA and SAT scores high enough for these schools?

Hi guys,

I'm getting ready to apply to again as a sophomore transfer from Emerson College (I know, it's a lot):

Villanova
Northwestern
USC
Vanderbilt
UNC
Notre Dame
Syracuse
Cornell

I currently have a GPA of 3.85 my first semester in college, which I guess is decent. BUT, will my high school SAT scores hurt my chances at these schools? I got a 630 CR, 660 M, 740 W= 2030/2400.

Any help would be appreciated!

Also, should I retake the SATs if my score isn’t good enough?

what is your major … that will make a huge difference

GPA is good but the sat math+verbal is on the lower end for Northwestern and Cornell

You don’t need to retake your SATs, they aren’t that bad. I’d say you have a decent shot at most of those schools.

What was your HS gpa? That will matter since you’re applying for sophomore year

my major is multimedia journalism, mostly broadcast. my HS gpa was a 3.6 UW and a 3.8 W. thanks for any other help!!
