Transfer Student Housing Question

I noticed that Georgetown does not guarantee housing for transfer students entering as juniors, though transfer students do have a chance at on-campus housing through a lottery system. Is it likely that a junior transfer student would get an on-campus room?

Personally, living off-campus seems like a pretty big hassle for a student who is starting their first year at Georgetown, although I would appreciate any insight into this process.

Thanks.

Assuming that junior transfers are just like regular juniors, then you should be able to get at least a year of eligibility. The eligibility lottery is run on a points system, whereby you get a certain number of points; 4 as either a junior or a senior who was abroad/lived off campus junior year, or 3 for a senior who lived on campus junior year. In effect, this translates to: everybody gets at least one year of housing either junior or senior year, but if you live on campus junior year, you may not get housing senior year.

I transferred as a junior and got housing no problem.
