4th year of housing / studying abroad

Georgetown guarantees 3 years of on-campus housing. Does anyone have an idea about the odds in the 4th year lottery? Also, if you study abroad as a junior, can you then use your third year of guaranteed on-campus housing as a senior, or is that guarantee specifically designated only for juniors?

Hey @MisterMicawber - I’m a current sophomore, and I know many seniors who live off campus in the surrounding neighbourhood (which is the most popular thing to do), so I wouldn’t worry about the chances of living on campus if you choose to do so. If you study Abroad for a semester or full year, that does count toward your housing residency requirement. There is the option of a third year swap, where you can choose to live off campus junior year and then live on campus senior year. If interested in that, you’d have to apply in spring of sophomore year.

Many thanks for the help, lm1082!

and if you do want to live on campus senior year, i don’t think anyone really ever gets denied. Georgetown prefers its’ students stay on campus and has plenty of res space for seniors.

Was told that at GAAP as well this past weekend. Sounds promising!
