Transfer Student, just accepted, now worried.

I'm transferring from a FL CC and I was just accepted into the university! I am worried because it took so long to get a decision (nearly 9 weeks), and I know that housing is pretty much filled. If I apply now, what are the odds of me getting on-campus housing as a upper-level transfer?

Also, I haven't received my financial aid package yet. How long, on average, does it take to show up?

i would say for the nice dorms there isnt a chance. but you may have a chance with other dorms that are not so nice. But i think its a very slim chance to be honest.

hey @aworldfulloflove, i am looking to transfer over from a fla cc as well. what were your stats and your major?

There is more housing held for late transfer acceptances than for freshman (upperclass housing not available to freshman), so you have a shot at decent housing.

Forget it- they’re not accepting applications anymore. This sucks.

My stats:
GPA: 3.91
SAT: embarrassingly bad
Major: social work

Transfer applications are accepted year round. Only freshman applications are closed.

Housing, I mean. They’re not accepting applications for housing anymore. Sorry for not making it clear lol.

The private dorms are still available, though.

Well I dont know much about on campus housing, when I transferred I went right into off campus housing at Heritage Park (love it by the way). What I did want to comment on is YAY SOCIAL WORK! I transferred from USF’s social work department to FSU’s last summer and I LOVE it. FSU really has a great social work program and I hope you like it!! I was blown away when I got here for it.

I was accepted last year, the 1st of April as a transfer. I immediately apply for housing the same day, and barely got a dorm instead of being assigned to a temporary housing. Since you haven’t received a decision yet, you probably won’t be able to get on campus housing. If you have, and were accepted, CONGRATULATIONS! but you still won’t get housing because housing applications are closed. Look for off campus housing like University Village, Seminole Grand, etc.

I hadn’t receive my notifications of my financial aid until either around June or August.
