The deadline for transfer students is March 1 and I put my SUNY application in on Feb. 24 for Stony Brook and then had my transcripts sent there from my school (they said that this process can take up to 4 business days!!) I will have my associates degree in Liberal Arts from Borough of Manhattan Community college SPRING 2011, I currently have a 3.48GPA and it should be higher once I finish this semester.
Basically my question is will I have made the application deadline since my application was submitted on Feb. 24 or does it have to be complete with transcript by Mar. 1?, I am confused.
Also when admissions refers to "rolling" is that considered the same as first come first served basis?
Thank you!

The application generally has to be postmarked by the deadline. It doesn’t necessarily have to arrive by that date.

Rolling is usually first come, first serve, to an extent. Applications are considered throughout the application period.

Thank you DJStony! I was worried but now I do feel a bit better. I know that no one really knows the answer to this question but maybe you can give me your opinion. How do my chances look with a 3.48 and an associates from a cuny school?, I heard that if you are coming from cuny/suny you are given special consideration… is this true?

Just make sure you get all the stuff in to us; with an associate’s degree and a 3.48 you should be easily admissible.

Thank you SBUadmissions!
I was really concerned about this issue that I even sent an unofficial transcript via email to the admissions department just to be there until my real transcript arrives. I hope that everything will work out!
